Our sustainable investment approach
For Infranode, the responsible investment approach is to invest in infrastructure that promotes sustainable and efficient functioning of our economies and communities today and in the future. We invest in partnerships with the private and public sectors to close the gap between investment needs and allocation of capital.
Investing in infrastructure means contributing to building the foundations of society and sustainability is central in every step of the investment process—from pre-screening to careful due diligence when assessing investment opportunities, to ongoing work on sustainability topics throughout our active ownership. Key to our investment approach is supporting the green transition. Decarbonization is central to our long-term vision and we have committed to work towards net zero in 2040, or sooner, for our portfolio.
Sustainability is part of our core strategy
Net Zero 2040 commitment
Decarbonization is central to our long-term vision, and we dedicate our efforts towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, or sooner. We are convinced that our work towards Net Zero 2040, combined with our established sustainability processes and broad team dedication, will create a resilient portfolio, delivering stable returns to our investors over our investment horizon and beyond.
We will support our portfolio companies in developing their own roadmaps and provide expert guidance. Based on all asset roadmaps, we will develop an Infranode Net Zero 2040 roadmap. We will address greenhouse gas emissions across all scops, seeking solutions for decarbonization and implement true emission reduction measures. Our progress will be disclosed annually. ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance)
Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) is the world's leading advocate for responsible investments. The organization is working to analyze how environmental and social factors together with governance (ESG) impact investments while supporting its international network of investors to implement these factors in their investment and ownership decisions. PRI is supported by, without being part of, the UN.
Swesif is an independent network forum for organizations working for or with sustainable investments in Sweden. The long-term goal is to increase knowledge of sustainable investments, to be a network and meeting place for knowledge and experience, contribute to relevant statistics on sustainable investments in Sweden and contribute to the public debate through active participation.
Long Term Infrastructure Investors Association (LTIIA) was founded in 2014 by investors for investors and works with a wide range of stakeholders—including infrastructure investors, decision makers and academics—to support long-term and responsible allocation of private capital to public infrastructure around the world.
GRESB is a global real estate sustainability benchmark for infrastructure assets and their fund managers. By applying rigorous methodology and consistent framework, GRESB evaluates sustainability governance of companies and funds in the segments of leadership, policies, reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, health and safety, customers and emission levels. Infranode uses GRESB to assess ESG governance standing of portfolio companies since good governance is a foundation for good ESG performance and risk minimization.

Infranode’s remuneration policy – integration of sustainability risks
The Board of Infranode (“the Manager”) has adopted a Remuneration policy to ensure that the Manager has a remuneration system that (i) complies with the Manager’s and the Funds’ strategies and objectives, (ii) does not encourage excessive risk taking, (iii) aligns the interests of the Funds and the Investors with those of the Manager’s staff, and (iv) maintains a sound financial situation of the Manager. The policy applies in relation to the Manager’s business as a whole.
According to the Remuneration Policy, employees are entitled to fixed remuneration. In addition, some employees will be entitled to variable Remuneration. All variable Remuneration shall be determined on the basis of performance, which means both (i) the individual performance by the staff member and (ii) the Manager’s overall performance. Both financial and non-financial criteria shall be taken into account in the assessment of the staff member’s performance. Non-financial criteria include inter alia the adherence to the ESG policy with regard to the integration of sustainability risks and sustainability is integrated in performance indicators and targets, and subject to performance reviews of Infranode employees. For heads of departments, sustainability is part of their performance KPIs; for employees, ESG is part of their performance review.
In order to achieve a long-term perspective and stability in the Manager’s operations, the performance assessment that will form the basis for variable remuneration will be based on performance during a longer period (at least one year). This period constitutes the staff member’s accrual period.
