Enabling the Nordic transition

Bridging the Nordic gap

In the Nordic region, there is a significant and long-term investment need in infrastructure that is expected to exceed EUR 880 billion over the next ten years. The refurbishment of infrastructure amounts to EUR 270 billion, transition infrastructure to EUR360 billion, and defence and resilience infrastructure to EUR 250 billion.

The investment need stems both from the aging infrastructure across the Nordics, ambitious Net Zero targets, and a need to increase our resilience. We believe that one part of the solution is to allow institutional capital to participate in investments in existing and new essential infrastructure creating long-term partnerships that are profitable and sustainable for our society.

Our unique model for responsible investments

Infrastructure is not just another kind of asset to invest in. It is the foundation for society and for every citizen's well-being. Infranode has developed a model for infrastructure investments that guarantees long-term improvements and value for every stakeholder.

Our unique model for responsible investments

By laying the foundation for societal transformation, infrastructure serves as a catalyst for innovation and change. Infrastructure is one of the primary building blocks for progress of our Nordic societies. That is why we have developed a model where our investments deliver long-term value for generations to come.

A flexible investor

We create investment opportunities through innovative partnership models with the private and public sector. Our flexible approach enables us to tackle complexity.

Our model allows both majority and minority investments. We can acquire between 10% to 100% in new assets, and have the capacity to invest additional capital during our ownership.

Joint ownership

Our approach is to co-own and invest together with public and private actors in the Nordics.

13 of our 20 current assets are co-owned with our partners.

Long term

We believe in investing in assets with the endurance to stand the test of time and deliver long-term, sustainable value.

We have a long-term perspective with a 25-year investment horizon in our flagship fund strategy.

Trusted investors

We are backed by leading institutions who share our long-term perspective. Our joint focus on our flagship fund strategy is stable, predictable returns.

Our close partnerships with our investors in turn enable the long-term partnerships we have with local municipalities and public asset owners.

Experience and expertise

We have sector expertise in areas of ownership and improvements of our infrastructure investments, and profound understanding of local needs and regulations across the Nordics.

Sustainability

We have committed to working towards Net Zero 2040 across our portfolio. Sustainability is at core of our business strategy.

We tailor our ESG work for all assets by applying our in-house developed ESG methodology from the initial stages of the investment phase as well throughout our ownership and asset management.

We are a member of several organisations working for sustainable investments, such as PRI and SWESIF.

We create shared value

Together with our partners, we invest in Nordic infrastructure that drives the transition. By channeling long-term institutional capital into local projects, we create value for communities and investorsWe put emphasis on the local, because infrastructure is always close to home.

Sustainability is part of our core strategy

ESG in the investment phase

We have developed our own in-house tool that makes sustainability a natural part of our overall analysis of a potential investment. Our starting point is simple: it is not possible to distinguish sustainability issues from the general financial analysis of risk and returnBefore considering an investment, we screen the asset through an exclusion and restrictions list to determine viability. As part of the investment phase, we perform an ESG due diligence.

ESG under our ownership

As active owners, sustainability is fundamental to our long-term asset management. Wseek to support our portfolio companies in becoming fit for a carbon-neutral future and integrate sustainability factors in our business plans and track progress for our portfolio annually. We have developed a systematic ESG approach through which the ESG policy is implemented and supervised through on-going dialogue with portfolio companies.

ESG Collaborations

Through partnerships and collaborations, we promote the transition to a low carbon economy with our investments and our collaborative approach. Infranode is a member of several organisations that work together for sustainable investments, such as PRI and, SWESIF.

We have made a commitment to work towards decarbonising our portfolio by 2040 or sooner. Our Net Zero commitment was made with the strong conviction that it strengthens our core business objectives of enabling capital from long-term institutions to be invested in infrastructure, creating value for society and our investors.
