Nordic infrastructure investor Infranode to open office in Copenhagen and hires Silas Harbo as Country Lead

Infranode is establishing an office in Copenhagen and strengthens its coverage of the Danish infrastructure market by appointing former director at Nykredit Advisory, Silas Harbo, as Country Lead Denmark. The Copenhagen office is added to Infranode offices in Stockholm, Helsinki and Oslo, in line with its strategy to be the leading local Nordic focused infrastructure investor.

Silas Harbo joins Infranode from Nykredit in Denmark where he worked as a director in Nykredit Advisory, a leading infrastructure focused M&A franchise. At Nykredit Advisory, Silas has advised a wide spectrum of Danish infrastructure stakeholders including the majority of Danish energy and utility companies and Danish pension funds but also international infrastructure investors looking to invest in Denmark. He previously held a position as Chief Consultant at the Strategic Analysis Unit at Dansk Energi in Copenhagen. Silas graduated from University of Copenhagen with a M.Sc. in Economics and has completed an Energy MBA program from Columbia University in New York.

“As a new member of Infranode’s team, I look forward to continue developing Infranode’s presence in the Danish market with a particular focus on identifying and executing new investment opportunities, as well as to support Infranode’s investment activities in other Nordic countries”, says Silas Harbo.

Infranode is a Nordic infrastructure investor with focus on long-term sustainable investments within the energy & utilities, renewables, digital infrastructure, transportation and social infrastructure sectors. Infranode has a large and growing team of infrastructure investment and asset management professionals with extensive local and international experience. Through persistent presence and a particular focus on active asset management with a truly long-term horizon, Infranode has become a preferred partner among Nordic utilities and infrastructure companies.

Infranode has c. EUR 1.7 billion of capital under management from long-term institutional investors with some of the most renowned Nordic pension funds as the core. The Infranode portfolio currently consists of eleven infrastructure assets across the Nordics, including in Denmark the Vandel III solar park located on the former airfield outside Billund, currently the largest solar park in the Nordics. Infranode has also signed a framework agreement with the Port of Esbjerg to contribute with investments to support its expansion as a key gateway for the North Sea offshore wind industry.

“On the back of successful transaction activities and an active pipeline in Denmark, including municipal/co-operative co-ownership opportunities in the utilities and digital sectors such as electricity distribution and fibre, the time is now right for Infranode to further our commitment to be a key player in the Danish infrastructure market. Silas has spent his career in the Danish infrastructure sector and brings in considerable experience within regulated utilities, telecom, renewables and transportation to the team. We are excited to have Silas on board and to building out a team in Denmark together with him”, says Philip Ajina, Founding Partner at Infranode.

Silas will join Infranode on 1st of November 2021.
